Take a walk around Arts District in Downtown LA and find the most instagrammable walls in all of LA!

Keep a day aside to search for art on garage walls, high up on a building, or just hidden in plain sight! Walking through the artsy neighbourhoods, cafe hopping and when evening comes- bar hopping, all sum up a great day in a part of LA that most tourists miss!

True to its name, arts district is home to art galleries that showcase art by local and international artists.

Tip to make your search easier

When exploring the area on your own, don't hesitate to ask the locals about art nearby. If you aren't comfortable going up to strangers on the road, you could pop into a cafe or store and ask the staff there about the area. You will get a better idea of what's in the area, and will get to see some local favourites that you probably wouldn't have found on your own!

My Herschel Backpack accompanied me all through my travels in the USA. I had a few people ask me about the backpack, so I'm leaving a link to it here!

The bag is functional & light, perfect for my travels!

If you don't want to explore on your own, and want a guided tour of the best artworks in the area, book a tour through Cartwheel Art. They have tours to suit different tastes and interests.

For bookworms like me, The Last Bookstore at 453 S Spring St is a must visit. They have a great collection of new and old books and records. They organise multiple events a day, so check out their website to see if anything interests you at the time of your visit, and plan accordingly.

If you don't care much for old books and records, and are just looking for great places to photograph for social media- The Last Bookstore fits the bill! The interiors are beautifully done, with book displays artistically placed in cute corners of the store.
